About Us

Highland's worship life revolves around Sunday services. Sunday school classes are offered for preschoolers, all school grade levels, and adults. A nursery is provided during the church service. We have a Session of Elders responsible for the adminstration of the church through leading a variety of committees such as worship, property, finance, personnel, and education. Our Board of Deacons is an organization providing services such as member visitation.

Highland has exceptional volunteerism. When a project needs to be done, many members happily step up to do the job, which may be anything from painting classrooms to cooking and serving for our annual turkey dinner.

Highland's congregation includes members with diverse socio-economic backgrounds, from farmers to blue collar workers to teachers and artists. Because of these diverse backgrounds, there is a broad spectrum of Christian beliefs that are respected by all members of the congregation.

Brief History

Highland was chartered in 1993 through the uniting of two small churches, Newport and Millerstown Presbyterian, into one. We are proud to have been able to merge the traditions of these two churches into a functioning, cooperating body of worshipers.
